The Founder and President of Hilly Productions is James Hilliard. He began covering the latest technology trends and business developments as a reporter in 1999 with ZDTV.

In 2000, James moved to CNET where he was the Assignment Editor and a news Anchor/Reporter for CNET Radio, watching over the tech bubble and its implosion.

Hilliard started his media career in San Francisco working at the top broadcast news and talk radio stations, including KGO 810 am, KCBS 740 am and KSFO 560 am where he produced “The Savage Nation w/Michael Savage.”

Starting with the shoot where we use HD cameras recording directly to digital media.

For editing we use Final Cut Studio , After Effects and a range of other tools to streamline the workflow so we can get your project completed in the time you need.

So how do you go about creating an instructional / training video?

• Like all videos it starts with planning.
• What are you giving training on – be precise and focused. Keep a list of the topics that will make up the training.
• Create a storyboard of what how it will be presented.
• Then you can start recording it all

Here are some options to consider for your training video.

• Are you going to be presenting the material live to an audience? If so let’s capture it on video. We can edit it into training video with supporting graphics, lower third information etc.
• We can shoot the presenter against a green-screen and  then add motion graphics into the background.
• The training video can be as simple as capturing a real-time demonstration of how to you a program on a computer.
• It can a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation converted to video with an audio track added.

Speaking Events are great opportunity to capture video for use on your corporate website but just setting up a consumer camera at the back of the room just doesn’t cut it if you are looking for professional results. The biggest problem in the DIY approach is the audio but we have it taped (please pardon the pun).
